Ways to Give to the Ecumenical Senior Center

You may write a check and mail it to 702 North Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI  49007.  You can also call our office at 269-381-9750 and ask to speak to the Executive Director and he can assist you with any additional questions. 

 

Donate by Credit Card:

You may click on the Donate button on the web page and it will take you to a secured site where you can enter your credit card information.

 

Matching Gifts

​

Many companies match employees’, retirees’ and employees’ spouses’ donations.

 

With a matching gift, your donation to the Ecumenical Senior Center may be doubled in value, thereby maximizing the impact you can have.

 

Check with your HR department to see if your contribution to Ecumenical Senior Center can go even further with a matching gift.

 

 

Workplace Giving

If your workplace participates in the United Way campaign, you may be able to designate your pledge to the Ecumenical Senior Center through United Way’s Donor Choice Program. Check with your human resource department for further details.

Give Stocks and Funds

Donating stock, securities and mutual fund shares is an effective way to help support the Ecumenical Senior Center. Making this gift is simple and offers you valuable financial benefits:

• You can donate appreciated stocks, bonds or mutual funds

• The total value of the stock upon transfer is tax-deductible

• There is no obligation to pay any capital gains taxes on the appreciation

 

Gift in Your Will or Living Trust

Giving is as easy as including just one sentence in your will stating your desire to contribute to the Ecumenical Senior Center.

 

This is a great way to make a memorial and/or a legacy that will impact on the programs and services provided to seniors in this community for years to come.

And because your gift is not realized until after your lifetime, it costs you nothing today. Finally, if your life or financial circumstances change, you can amend your gift or change your mind at any time.

Beneficiary Designations

An easy way to support the Ecumenical Senior Center is to list us as a beneficiary of one of your assets:

• IRAs or retirement plan

• Life insurance policy

• Commercial annuity

We are always in need of in-kind donations that help us lower our operating costs. 

 

You can help support our seniors by assisting us with any of the following items or volunteer opportunities. 

​

• Gift certificates of $10, $25 and $50 for any local store to help our seniors with personal care items, food or cleaning supplies.  We would love to provide our seniors with holiday bags this holiday season and we also use gift certificates as prizes and other special tokens. 

​

• Small gifts:  Candles, soaps, cologne, gloves, etc.  Also, here’s a great way to recycle or re-gift those new gifts you don’t need. 

​

• Household items: such as shampoo, detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, bleach, toothpaste, etc. 

​

• Gift certificates to local restaurants:

• Equipment: Karaoke Player, Wi or other appropriate computer games

​

• Lazy Boy type recliner Chair

​

• Word Puzzle Books: word searches, etc.
